Learn a broader awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and gain an understanding of what it means to be an Aboriginal today in Australia. Discover First Nation Peoples knowledge of Land, Sea, Water and Spiritual connection to the land of Bundjalung Country. Acknowledge the traditional owners, past and present ancestors and elders of Aboriginal culture. Topics covered include: European Colonisation, Aboriginal & Torres Strait People history, policies, intergenerational impact and stolen generation trauma. This course is delivered through North Coast Community College’s Aboriginal Engagement Project Officer, Rachel Roberts; an inspiring Bundjalung community member. Rachel believes in strong advocacy and the importance of identity and education awareness in the Northern Rivers. Join us on this journey!
