Tech Savvy Seniors aims to provide those over 60 with affordable training to gain confidence in using computers and online technology. This program is an initiative of the NSW Aging Strategy and is funded through a partnership between the NSW government and Telstra.
This workshop will walk you through the basics of what a computer is, what its components are and how it’s operated. We’ll teach you how to use a mouse and keyboard. Using those skills, you will create your first document on the computer and do a little web surfing.
Mobile smartphones allow you to access the internet, use social media, get live news updates, play music and videos, and much more. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of how to navigate your way around a smartphone touchscreen, make and receive calls, add and find a contact, adjust the volume on your phone. You will also learn briefly about apps, what they are, how to download them, and their costs.
Online Banking is a growing way of managing your finances online. As branches close, it becomes important that people know how to bank online and stay safe while they do it.
